This is despite community engagement being absolutely essential for a person’s physical and mental welfare. The NDIS will fund various activities for eligible participants to become involved in, and Nimble Care can be there to support you every step of the way.

So, what can this NDIS funding be used for? Below we’ve outlined some of what you can do with a Social and Community Participation support category.

Social Activities

Whether it's joining a club, playing a sport or participating in a social event, we can help you make all the arrangements for you to get involved.

Self-Improvement

These include classes that teach you life skills, from communication and problem solving to critical thinking and tackling everyday activities.

Travelling

Perhaps you want a weekend away, a trip to Noosa, a vacation to Bali or a holiday on Hamilton Island. We can help you make that a reality.

Visit Social Places

This can include places like visiting a library, seeing a concert or show, attending a movie theatre and going to other places within our community that you enjoy.

What is not covered?

This NDIS funding category won’t usually fund coaching or certain class fees. However, it’s always worth asking the question. If the cost related to your disability is “reasonable and necessary” and is connected to the goals in your NDIS Plan, you may get funding for some of the costs.
